Hawaii 2012

Joso Vidal started painting on shell in 2004 creating a line of pendants and earrings he sold in Barcelona's famed Barrio Gotico street shops.   He met Rose Moore that same year and they married in 2005, taking the fledgling business to San Francisco where they both worked for six years selling their jewelry at the Ferry Building Farmer's Market and exhibiting at art festivals and shows in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington.

In 2012 they relocated to Honolulu, participated in the Made in Hawaii festival and opened a kiosk at the International Market Place in Waikiki Beach which closed for renovation in December 2013.  One month later they moved across the street to open their kiosk at The Royal Hawaiian Center where they are now located.  In February 2016, they opened their first brick and mortar store in the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort and in September 2016 will once again start offering their jewelry wholesale to select accounts.

Joso says: "When I decided to become a painter, the first image I painted was of a sunset.  Now 20 years later that is one of our most popular designs.  I'm glad our customers appreciate that design, it was my first."

Rose says:  "The light in mother of pearl inspires a special creativity.  We fuse that light with color and draw our inspiration from the natural world."
